Suffixes Forming Noun in English as Found in Time Magazine
ABSTRACTrnThis syudy deals with the suffixes forming noun in english as found in the Time Magazine. Speaking of suffixes forming nouns in English, the writer used to theory proposed by Bauer (1983) to analyze her data. Bauer divides the suffixes forming noun into three groups, they are: suffixes forming noun from verb, suffixes forming noun from adjective and suffixes forming noun from noun it self. the objective pf this study is to find out suffixes forming noun in English proposed by Bauer (1983) as found in the Time Magazine, to know to what root suffixes forming noun are added and find out types of nouns in English as found in the Time Magazine. the result of anlysis show that from 18 (eighteen) suffixes forming noun that are mostly used in Time Magazine are suffix -er(27%),suffix -ion(26,68%), suffix -ity(6,84%), suffix -ance(0,5%), suffix -hood(1,05%), suffix -ment(8,9%), suffix -ee(0,5%). but there are some suffixes forming noun that the writer could not find in the data they are; suffix -dom suffix-eer, suffix -ation, suffix -ette, suffix-age.
